Officials share more details about fatal Plant City crash
PLANT CITY, FL – Troopers revealed that a van driver – a 22-year-old man – rear-ended an SUV which led to a five-vehicle collision and resulted in a 52-year-old man losing his life.
As indicated in a report from ABC Action News, the collision took place before 7:45 a.m. Thursday. The 22-year-old man was traveling in an instance lane, and struck the back of the SUV, causing a chain-reaction crash.
The van driver and the SUV passenger, a 47-year-old woman from Kissimmee, sustained minor injuries. First responders declared the SUV driver – the 52-year-old man – dead at the scene.
All occupants wore their seat belts; the other drivers were unharmed.
