One dead after SUV, motorcycle crash in Fort Myers
FORT MYERS, FL – A motorcyclist was left dead following a two-vehicle crash on Metro Parkway Monday.
The collision happened around 4:15 p.m. near Crystal Drive, Wink News reported.
A driver of an SU, a 26-year-old woman, was waiting to turn left on the eastbound lanes of Crystal Drive. At the same time, a driver of a passenger car, a 50-year-old man, was waiting to turn right on the westbound lanes of Crystal Drive.
When the SUV driver had the right of way to turn after the red light, she turned left, while the motorcyclist went against the traffic light, resulting in a collision. The motorcyclist hit the right side of the SUV and ejected.
It is unclear if the two drivers were hurt. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to deadly injuries.
