One hospitalized, one dead after I-275 crash in Tampa
TAMPA, FL – One was injured, and another was left dead following a three-vehicle crash on I-275 North Sunday.
The collision happened around 2:45 a.m., WFLA reported. One driver was traveling at a high rate and collided with the back of an SUV.
The impact caused the SUV to spin and catch fire. In addition, the driver who hit the first SUV also struck a second SUV.
The driver of the first SUV sustained minor injuries, and the passenger, a 41-year-old man, succumbed to fatal injuries.
The occupants of the second SUV were spared from injuries.
The driver responsible for the three-vehicle collision was identified as 29-year-old Alexander Hoffman. Officials arrested Hoffman for driving under the influence.
