One killed in Fruit Cove car, pedestrian crash

FRUIT COVE, FL – A pedestrian’s life was claimed after getting struck by a car on southbound State Road 13 Thursday.

The collision occurred before 8:15 p.m., Action News Jax reported. Officials said that, according to eyewitnesses, the pedestrian who walked with a bike wanted to cross and declined to notice the approaching vehicle.

The driver of the car then struck the pedestrian. The person was ejected and succumbed to fatal injuries.
