One life claimed in FL’s Turnpike wreck in Miami
MIAMI, FL – One driver was hospitalized, and another motorist lost their life after they were struck by a pickup truck on Florida’s Turnpike Saturday, WSVN reported.
Florida Highway Patrol, who responded to the scene, said that prior to the pickup truck hitting the two drivers, they were involved in an initial collision. Troopers indicated they were standing next to their damaged white SUV and gray sedan (both vehicles blocking a left lane) just before the pickup truck came around 9:15 a.m.
First responders said the person who was hospitalized was taken to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. That person was listed in critical condition.
As new developments surfaced, authorities confirmed that two other people were also hospitalized. It is unclear if they were the passengers from the gray sedan or the white SUV. In addition, officials did not provide an update on their current condition.
