One seriously hurt, one dead after crash on SR-429 in Apopka
APOPKA, FL – A 77-year-old man died, and a 73-year-old woman was hospitalized following a single-car crash on SR-429.
The collision occurred before 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Orlando Sentinel reported. For reasons unknown, the driver of a 2022 Toyota Tundra was traveling in the southbound lanes of the freeway when he lost control of his pickup truck. The vehicle traveled off course, crashed into a railway, and rolled over.
The 73-year-old woman is expected to survive. The 77-year-old man was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
SR-429 in the Apopka area was closed for some time following the deadly crash. All travel lanes have reopened since.
