Orlando officer, civilian driver hurt in left-turn auto accident
ORLANDO, FL – An Orlando police officer turned left on a red light, leading them to hit another vehicle, injuring themself and the other driver in the process Tuesday.
This collision took place before 11:15 p.m. on John Young Parkway near Old Winter Garden Road, Click Orlando reported.
Florida Highway Patrol said the other driver, who operated a 2024 Chevy Equinox, had continued through a green light. The Chevy driver sustained minor wounds but did not need to go to a hospital, while the officer was hospitalized for minor injuries.
