Pedestrian fatally hit by U.S. postal truck at SW Miami intersection
MIAMI, FL – A man died early Friday morning after being struck by a United States postal truck on 27th Avenue in southwest Miami, according to Local 10.
The fatal incident unfolded on a stretch of the road (State Route 9) at the intersection with 26th Street. It was first reported at around 4:36 a.m., prompting a response from Miami Fire Rescue crews shortly after.
While the circumstances of the event remain under investigation, officials said the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A spokesperson for the USPS has expressed condolences and has also confirmed to Local 10 News that the involved driver has been employed seven years with the the postal service.
No charges or citations have been reported as of this writing.
