Pedestrian killed after getting hit by car in Winter Haven
WINTER HAVEN, FL – A driver of a 2006 Toyota Corolla fatally struck a pedestrian on Buckeye Loop Road around 1 a.m. Thursday, FOX 13 News revealed.
The driver, who was identified as 25-year-old Gabriel Mora, said he did not see the pedestrian when he struck him. This could have been because of no street lights in place or any light from this neighborhood, as well as a line of trees that could block a driver’s view. Police said Mora was not impaired at the time of this collision.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this collision and has not revealed the pedestrian’s name pending notification of next of kin.
