Pickup truck, bicycle crash in Lakeland claims man’s life
LAKELAND, FL – A 44-year-old man riding a bicycle lost his life after he collided with a driver operating a Dodge pickup truck pulling a utility trailer Wednesday.
This collision happened at the Autumnwood Grove Boulevard and U.S. 98 junction, according to FOX 13 News.
The cyclist, who did not wear a helmet, started riding his bike on a red light, leading him to crash into the truck’s side and then the front of the trailer to strike him. The impact led the bicyclist — Alfonso Quintana — to then collide with the trailer.
Upon arrival, first responders rushed Quintana to a hospital, where he later died.
No charges were reported at this time.
