Pilot killed in banner-towing plane crash in Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD, FL – A plane collision on South Park Road claimed a pilot’s life Wednesday, WSVN reported.
The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. The pilot, who operated a banner-towing plane, was having mechanical issues and had to drop the banner.
He intended to release the banner into a lake but was unsuccessful. He lost control of the plane before crashing.
The plane caught fire, and first responders extinguished the flames. However, despite their best efforts to conduct life-saving measures – the pilot suffered fatal injuries.
South Park Road between Hollywood Boulevard and Johnson Street closed and will reopen sometime on Thursday, May 18th.
