Police arrest man after collision with Miami-Dade patrol car
MIAMI, FL – Miami-Dade police arrested a man after he crashed into a Miami-Dade Police Department car and then fled the scene on foot Sunday.
Officers told NBC Miami that the events unfolded when the man, prior to getting arrested, was in an altercation with a woman. He tried to get the woman to enter his car against her will in West Little River in the vicinity of Northwest 35th Avenue and Northwest 101st Street. One of the officers noticed this event taking place and was about to intervene when the man fled the scene.
In the man’s attempts to get away from officers, he hit a patrol car. Police later found and apprehended him in Opa-Locka and booked him into custody.
No one sustained any injuries.
