Rear-end crash in Punta Gorda kills motorcyclist
PUNTA GORDA, FL – A motorcyclist was killed when he went into the left lane and rear-ended a pickup truck with a trailer on Tamiami Trail Thursday.
NBC-2 said the collision happened before 9:30 p.m. The pickup truck driver, a 20-year-old man, was in the left lane when the motorcyclist, a 45-year-old man, came into the left lane. The motorcycle and trailer caught on fire.
It is unclear if the pickup truck was hurt, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
