Red-light runner crash in Miami sends scooter rider to hospital
MIAMI, FL – A driver who ran a red light was responsible for crashing into a woman operating a motor scooter, sending her to a hospital Saturday.
The incident took place at the intersection of Northwest 14th Street and Seventh Avenue, WSVN said. Once the vehicle made contact with the scooter, the lady, in her 30s, was ejected from her mode of transportation and landed face-flat on the road.
Ambulance personnel hurried to the scene and transported the scooter rider to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. At this time, her current condition has not been disclosed.
The motorist did remain at the scene, and Miami police did not specify if they cited the driver or if they would be facing criminal charges.
