Sedan driver fatally hits male pedestrian in Sarasota
SARASOTA, FL – A man attempted to cross Clark Road right before oncoming traffic, resulting in him getting hit by a sedan and then an SUV, leading to his death Saturday.
ABC Action News said this crash happened before 9 p.m. near Swift Road. The sedan driver did sustain minor wounds during the collision, although the SUV driver and passenger, a 9-year-old child, were unharmed.
Florida Highway Patrol, who responded to this crash site, declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. In Florida, troopers don’t publically announce the names of victims killed in collisions. So they won’t release the pedestrian’s name but were able to confirm he was a 40-year-old man.
An investigation is underway.
