Semi turns left, fatally hits car driver in Christmas
CHRISTMAS, FL – A semi-truck driver turning left at East Colonial Drive and Sabal Palm Drive struck a moving car, which led to the car driver’s death Monday.
WFTV said this crash took place before 6:15 a.m. when the semi motorist was truing left from Sabal Palm to East Colonial and made contact with the 2019 Chevy Equinox.
After arriving, an ambulance took the car driver, a 54-year-old man, to Waterford Lakes ER Hospital, where he passed away. Florida Highway Patrol also shut down eastbound East Colonial to accommodate the standard scene clearance and investigation process.
FHP launched an investigation and has not released other details at this time.
