Speeding driver dies when car overturns in Christmas
CHRISTMAS, FL – A 42-year-old man from Chuluota was said to have been speeding when he missed a curve, ending in a rollover crash that claimed his life Friday.
WESH said the man drifted off the road, the intersection of Fort Christmas Road and Christmas Road, around 5 a.m. and crashed into a stop sign, trees, and a wire fence prior to his car overturning and coming to rest.
Florida Highway Patrol, who responded to the crash site, said the man, who was ejected from his vehicle, died at the scene. Upon arriving, crews shut down the area and told drivers approaching Colonial Drive as an alternative route. As expected, delays lingered in the area for several hours before the reopening.
