Speeding driver rear-ends car, claiming life in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A sedan driver, a 47-year-old man, was speeding when he rear-ended an SUV, claiming the life of the SUV driver Sunday.
This crash happened on I-10 West leading to U.S. 301 South, First Coast News reported. After the vehicles collided, both veered off the road and crashed into a wooded area before one car caught on fire.
Florida Highway Patrol said the SUV driver, a 54-year-old man from Palmetto, perished at the scene.
Troopers also confirmed that the 47-year-old man from Wildwood, the sedan passenger, a 52-year-old woman from Green Cove Springs, and an SUV passenger, a 54-year-old woman from Palmetto, sustained serious wounds and were taken to a hospital.
