SUV driver arrested for DUI after Fort Myers fiery crash
FORT MYERS, FL – An impaired driver collided with a semi-truck on Alico Road, prompting a fiery collision Sunday night.
A driver of an SUV traveling east on Alico Road was waiting to turn right when he crashed into a tractor-trailer traveling on the outside lane of Alico Road, NBC-2 reported.
Fire crews extinguished the flames, and both drivers could exit their vehicles. It appears both were unharmed.
The driver of the SUV, 64-year-old Martin John Bourgeois, was arrested for DUI and booked into the Lee County Jail.
The eastbound lanes of Alico Road were closed but have reopened since.
