SUV plows into Fort Myers food pantry, sending volunteers to hospital
FORT MYERS, FL – Some volunteers at a church food pantry had to go to the hospital after they were struck by an SUV who plowed into the building Wednesday.
Fort Myers Police told Wink News that the SUV driver had crashed into the McGregor Baptist Food Pantry, which is located on Fowler Street.
The food pantry director said the volunteers were hospitalized for neck injuries but should be alright.
The impact of this wreck had shattered the pantry’s windows.
Fire crews and EMS also responded to the scene and did not say if the driver was injured, and police did not specify what led the motorist to crash into the building.
