Teen, 16, hospitalized following Hallandale Beach hit-and-run
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A 16-year-old boy was taken to a hospital after he was struck by a driver near OB Johnson Park who fled the scene Monday.
This collision happened around 3:30 p.m. on Northwest Seventh Terrace when the teenager was walking home from school, according to WSVN.
The details concerning the hit-and-run collision are unclear. However, an eyewitness did recount to authorities that the suspect, who was believed to have driven a black Toyota Corolla (an older model), had dragged the teenage boy for a little over a block. The suspect then got out of the vehicle, went back in, and fled the scene.
The teenager, an 11th grader at Hallandale Beach High School, was sent to the Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, where he is recovering from his wounds.
