Teen driver runs red light, prompts fatal crash in Orlando
ORLANDO, FL – One driver was left dead after getting struck by a teen driver who ran a red light around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
According to FOX 35 Orlando, the teenage driver of a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe, which was reported stolen, went through the red light, colliding with a 2016 Toyota 4Runner, in the process. A preliminary investigation showed that the driver of the Toyota, a 23-year-old man, was turning left onto Dean Road when he collided with the Hyundai.
One vehicle caught on fire, while another overturned.
The Toyota driver succumbed to fatal injuries, while the Santa Fe driver and the four passengers were sent to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Toyota driver’s name “has not been released pending next-of-kin notification.”
