Teen killed as vehicle hits tree off County Rd 474 in Lake County
LAKE COUNTY, FL – Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a single-vehicle wreck early New Year’s Day in Clermont that claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy, according to ClickOrlando.
The fatal accident unfolded on County Road 474 at Hilochee Ridge Road, at about 1:20 a.m.
Investigators said the teen was operating a 2003 Chevy S-10 eastbound on CR-474 when, for reasons still unclear, the vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
The teen driver, who was found to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
