Two hurt, one dead in crash on I-95 in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A three-vehicle collision on I-95 claimed a man’s life on Monday, Jan. 9.
The crash occurred near the 8th St. exit on the southbound lanes of the interstate, News 4 Jax reported. A passenger vehicle driver failed to stop for traffic and hit the back of a pickup truck. The impact caused the pickup truck to hit a nearby SUV.
The first vehicle spun out of control before slamming into a wall. The driver of that vehicle was seriously injured, and the passenger – a 55-year-old man – was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to fatal injuries.
The SUV driver was unharmed, and the pickup truck driver, a 19-year-old adult – sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
