Update: Cargo driver runs red light, causes deadly wreck in Naples
NAPLES, FL – A driver of a fertilizer cargo tanker truck had supposedly ran a red light, causing a crash involving two other vehicles that claimed a woman’s life Thursday.
New details from Florida Highway Patrol, as reported by NBC-2, indicate that the tanker truck driver was going west on Immokalee Road when they proceeded through the intersection on a red light and struck an SUV turning left on eastbound Immokalee from Logan Boulevard South.
Contact between the SUV and truck then prompted those vehicles to strike a third vehicle.
FHP said an ambulance took the SUV driver, a 47-year-old woman from Naples, and the two children with her to a hospital.
The Naples woman later passed away at a hospital.
At this time, troopers have not revealed any pending charges for the truck driver.
