Update: Missing boater found dead after Tampa boat crash
TAMPA, FL – Authorities confirmed that the boat occupant who was deemed missing after falling off a 20-foot boat when it hit a barge was found and declared dead Wednesday.
Fox 13 News, who released this updated information, said the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission recovered the missing person “near the Courtney Campbell Causeway boat ramp.”
To recap, this crash happened around 4:15 a.m. near the Howard Franklin Bridge. The other person involved was taken to a hospital for serious wounds.
FWC officials are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind this crash and have not released additional details, including the victim’s name.
