Vehicle fire snarls traffic on US-16 in north Orlando
ORLANDO, FL -A vehicle fire on U.S. Highway 17/92 caused significant traffic disruptions in Seminole County on Tuesday morning.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reported the incident occurred in the northbound lanes near Spartan Drive shortly before 9:45 a.m.
Initially, all northbound lanes were closed as emergency responders worked to extinguish the blaze and clear the scene. The closure caused considerable backups during the late morning commute.
By 9:56 a.m., crews had made progress in managing the situation. FDOT updated that two left lanes remained blocked, allowing some traffic to pass through the area.
At approximately 10:00 a.m., officials announced that the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
