Woman, 18, loses life in Jacksonville crash with ejection

DOWNTOWN JACKSONVILLE, FL – An 18-year-old woman died after she was ejected from a car after her driver crashed into a raised concrete pole on Arlington Expressway Wednesday.

This collision happened before 11:30 a.m. when the driver, a 28-year-old woman, was coming from an off-ramp and lost control of her car prior to striking the pole, First Coast News revealed.

Florida Highway Patrol said the 18-year-old woman did not wear a seatbelt and was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where she died. They said the 28-year-old woman was left in serious condition but made no mention of an ambulance taking her to a hospital.

The three children with the women, a 1-year-old, 3-year-old, and a 4-year-old all sustained minor wounds.
