Woman, 21, killed in I-95 wreck in Pompano Beach
POMPANO BEACH, FL – A 21-year-old woman, who was standing outside of her disabled Toyota Corolla on I-95, died following a collision Tuesday.
The events started to unfold around 1 a.m. when the woman called for assistance after being involved in a prior crash. CBS News said a Hyundai Palisade SUV driver was traveling in an express lane when he struck the Corolla. As a result, the woman’s Corolla rammed into her, and she came into contact with a barrier wall. She was then pronounced dead at the scene, Florida Highway Patrol said.
FHP also mentioned that the 31-year-old man from Boca Raton didn’t see the woman or her vehicle at the time, and when he finally did notice the disabled car, he struck it.
Troopers haven’t reported any pending citations or charges for the man’s involvement in this wreck or have released the woman’s name.
More details will be posted as it becomes available.
