Woman, 27, killed in rear-end crash near Punta Gorda
PUNTA GORDA, FL – One life was claimed in a crash between a motorcycle and dump truck near Punta Gorda Wednesday.
The collision happened before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 17 and Bermont Road, NBC-2 reported.
The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old woman, and the driver of the dump truck were waiting in the left turn lane at U.S. 17. The truck driver put the vehicle in drive once the green light came on and crashed into the back of the motorcycle.
The truck driver was unharmed. However, the woman succumbed to fatal injuries.
