Woman, 58, killed in head-on crash in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, FL – A 58-year-old woman’s life was claimed in a head-on crash between an SUV and a semi-truck Friday.

According to News 4 JAX, the collision happened on North Main Street near Tisonia Road. The 58-year-old woman was driving south when she entered the northbound lanes and collided with an oncoming semi-truck.

Officials said the semi-truck driver was unable to avoid crashing into the semi-truck.

The semi-truck driver wore her seatbelt and was unharmed, while the SUV driver did not wear hers and succumbed to fatal injuries.

It is unclear what caused the 58-year-old woman to swerve into the northbound lanes. Our newsroom will provide additional details when they become available.
