Woman, 97, attacked by pit bulls in Lehigh Acres
LEHIGH ACRES, FL – A woman was getting cat food out of her cabinet at her Lehigh Acres home when she was attacked by two pit bulls.
According to NBC 2, the two large dogs growled and barked at her before biting the legs of 97-year-old Irene Days.
Days kicked them away, but that did not work. She was transported to a hospital.
This was the first reported attack, which meant the owner was given the option of isolating the dogs inside their home.
Days is s undergoing extensive recovery and treatment, mainly because the dogs were not vaccinated for rabies.
