Woman, child airlifted to hospital after hit-and-run in Immokalee
COLLIER CO., FL – Two people, including a child, were rushed to the hospital following a hit-and-run in Immokalee on Friday night.
According to a report by WINK, a 40-year-old woman and her 4-year-old child were hit near the intersection of South 9th Streets and Boston Avenue, just outside of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Paramedics transported both victims by helicopter to Gulf Coast Medical Center in serious condition.
The suspected driver, Noel Delarosa, attempted to flee the scene. He was located a short time later by the Florida Highway Patrol and taken into custody on charges of DUI, cocaine possession, and leaving the scene of a crash with serious injuries.
