Woman, child hospitalized after semi crash with ejection in Fort Myers
FORT MYERS, FL – A woman and a child traveling in a semi-truck were ejected from the back of the truck upon colliding with three other vehicles, sending them both to the hospital.
This collision happened before 10:45 p.m. Thursday at the SR-82 and Colonial Boulevard junction, according to NBC-2. Fort Myers police said the woman and child were inside the “sleeper portion” of the truck when the crash happened. While they were not thrown from the truck itself, they were ejected to the front.
Officers said the truck occupants sustained minor wounds and also confirmed another person was located below a bunch, approximately 1,000 feet.
While details are preliminary, officers did confirm that a man driving a black Dodge pickup truck was the one who initially collided with the semi-truck before he fled the scene.
