Woman injured, 5-year-old girl dead after Orlando hit-and-run crash
ORLANDO, FL – A woman is fighting to recover from her serious injuries, and her five-year-old daughter lost her life when their vehicle was struck by a driver who fled the scene Saturday.
This collision was reported before 10 a.m. at Orange Blossom Trail near Lee Road and Ace Road, WESH reported. The force of the crash caused a stop sign to lean to the side, and metal automobile parts got wedged inside a tree.
One occupant was unharmed, and two other passengers sustained minor wounds. Officials did not indicate whether these occupants were transported to a hospital. However, they did confirm that first responders took the 5-year-old girl and woman to an area medical facility. There, the girl succumbed to fatal injuries. Currently, the woman is in stable condition.
