Woman, two Miami-Dade police officers hurt in Miami crash
MIAMI, FL – One driver and two Miami-Dade Police officers were sent to the hospital following a crash that happened after a traffic stop.
The collision happened in the area of Northwest 103rd Street and 17th Avenue, NBC Miami reported.
Officials said a license plate reader detected a tag from a stolen car. Miami-Dade Police attempted to stop the driver of the stolen vehicle, but that person continued to drive off. An eyewitness said the driver ran the light and got away.
Police later were able to locate the stolen car and detained possible suspects.
As the Miami-Dade officers responded to the crash, one driver turned left and hit the police cruiser. The unidentified woman in that vehicle and the two officers who were responding to the collision were taken to a hospital. All of them sustained non-life-threatening injuries and appeared to be in stable condition.
