Wrong-way crash in Jacksonville claims 30-year-old woman’s life
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A 30-year-old woman was killed and a 57-year-old man was seriously injured in a wrong-way collision on I-295 near Duval Road around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
First Coast News said the driver of the sedan – the 57-year-old man – drove south in the northbound lanes, striking the 30-year-old woman driving her SUV in the northbound lanes.
The force of this collision caused the vehicles to rotate counterclockwise, and the SUV flipped over and came to rest on its right side, and the man’s car stopped on the left northbound lane of I-295.
It is not immediately clear if impairment was a contributing factor in this deadly wreck.
