Young woman dies after SUV crashes off Epcot Center Dr in Lake Buena Vista
ORANGE COUNTY, FL – A single-vehicle collision Tuesday night in Lake Buena Vista claimed the life of a 23-year-old Winter Garden woman, according to ClickOrlando.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the fatal accident unfolded on a stretch of Epcot Center Drive, south of Buena Vista Drive, with the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. Emergency responders were dispatched to the area at about 10:00 p.m.
An early investigation shows the young woman was behind the wheel of a 2024 Hyundai Tucson traveling northbound on Epcot Center Drive. At one point, for reasons still being determined, the SUV veered off the left side of the roadway.
After proceeding onto the grassy median and then north, the vehicle hit the support pole of a traffic sign. The victim, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the impact, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The FHP continues to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
